Jim has been our Session Clerk since September 2005. He has lived in Inverkip for most of his life and works at Hunterston Power Station in North Ayrshire. He is a loyal supporter of Greenock Morton football club and can often be found on a Sunday morning discussing Saturdays’ result.

Hilary has been our Congregational Treasurer since July 2010. Originally from Watford, she has lived in Inverkip since 1999 and is also a Greenock Morton fan. She is married to Ewen, one of the Sunday school teachers and has 2 children. She works for the ACCA in Glasgow but would like to point out she is not a qualified accountant! She is keen to encourage as many members as possible to complete a Gift Aid declaration as this makes a significant difference to the church’s income and for members to consider giving by standing order as this enables more accurate budgeting of the church’s finances.

Ann works closely with the  Session Clerk at Session meetings to ensure an accurate record is made of the discussions that take place and decisions made.

Roll-keeper:

Lindsay keeps the Communicant role up to date and organises the distribution of Communion cards via those Elders with districts.

In conjunction with the Treasurer, Norrie completes the quarterly gift aid return and sends to HMRC.

FWO Co-ordinator:

The FWO co-ordinator organises the distribution of freewill envelopes at the beginning of each year via Elders. Anyone wishing to donate via weekly envelopes, please contact Rosemary or their Elder.

The property group are responsible for carrying out small repairs and maintenance on the halls, church and Manse. They meet on a Tuesday evening and always welcome any offers of assistance.

Stuart and Aileen edit the quarterly church newsletter and always welcome contributions. Deadlines for contributions for each publication are advertised in the weekly intimations.

Hall & Flower Convenor

Joyce coordinates the bookings for the church hall. Anyone wishing to book the hall for a one-off or regular event should contact Joyce in the first instance.
Joyce also coordinates church flowers, including the distribution of flowers after Worship which is always appreciated by the recipient. Anyone wishing to donate flowers, please contact Joyce.


Child Protection/Safeguarding Coordinator

Carol ensures that all those in the church who work with children have the revelant Disclosure documentation and is keeps us up to date with changes in legislation and guidelines from the Church of Scotland.

Mission & Outreach Co-ordinator

The Mission and Outreach group organise fundraising events which are vital of the ongoing work of the Church. They aim to keep the people of Inverkip up to date with church events and appreciate the work done with the website and the newsletter which play an important part in this. They also co-ordinate the distribution of the Parish Christmas card.

Pastoral Care Co-ordinator

The Pastoral Care group provide support through visiting people at home, hospital or nursing homes. They also support people attending hospital or Doctor’s appointments and provide transport to and from church.

Worship & Welcome Group

The Worship and Welcome Group provide a valuable contribution to worship in the Church by conducting short midweek services twice a month. The Group is also involved with worship  at Easter and Christmas and members also participate in the regular Sunday worship as part of the rota for reading the Lesson.
